Creation of a new outsourced HR business unit growing from 45 to 650 staff within a 2 year period

What we did:

We started by designing a lean organisation structure with only four value-adding reporting layers and with clear cross-functional role relationships. We then helped define long-term objectives and key results (LOKRs) for each senior managerial role. We further trained all managers in Universal tools of leadership applicable at all levels in every function . Finally, we trained management in the methodology of internal evaluation of effectiveness and potential and  cross-validated  this internal evaluation via independent assessment of  ability to understand and solve complex problems.

Business outcomes:

  • Business unit’s target operating margin (15%) reached within 18 months.
  • Frontline staff turnover contained at 12%, versus industry average of 25%.
  • Reduction in absenteeism, increase in salary levels from bottom 25% to top 50% for area and several letters of commendation from leading FMCG companies about the quality of products and services.
